As a former television journalist I’ve covered murders, fires, robberies, abuse, corruption, you name it – I’ve reported on it.
“Click-clack.” That sound could be heard coming from my bedroom as a little girl. Summers at our ranch weren’t just a time to relax, summers for me were spent typing away stories on a typewriter my parents gave me. Remember that old thing?! Oh, how I loved using it. I can still picture myself, sitting on a chair in my small pink bedroom, typing away for hours on end.
Stories captivated my heart.
So it came as no surprise that I would pursue a career as a television journalist. I followed my passion, won some awards along the way, yet with every “good” story I told there were many more “bad” stories.
Stories that broke my heart.
But there was always one story that pieced it back together. A story that continues to captivate me.
It gives me hope when I’m hopeless and strength when I’m weak.
It’s inscribed on my heart – weaved in my soul.
It has the power to write new beginnings and erase wrongdoings.
It’s the story of The Gospel – The Good News.
While the Gospel of Jesus Christ may not make headlines or a late night newscast, it’s worthy enough to be told.
I’ve been a follower of Christ since I was a little girl, but it wasn’t until the beginning of 2014 when God’s presence became more evident in my life.
Through tears came truth.
Through heartbreak came healing.
Through trials came transformation.
All of that – led to this little space on the internet you see right here.
I pray that through the words God lays on my heart, you feel encouraged, inspired and empowered. I pray you come to know Him as a loving Father who’s faithful and worthy of your trust.
Life is about love and laughter.
I was born in San Antonio, raised on a ranch an hour away from the city. I spent six years working as a television journalist in a career that took me from Texas to Connecticut. I’ll always be a journalist at heart: curious, driven and a truth-seeker.
When I’m not writing, you can find me reading, curled up, lost in a good book with one hand holding a warm mug of hot tea or coffee.
I love all things pink. Chocolate anything is my favorite. Play some good music and you’ll likely find me dancing. You only live once so I’m always down for something new. I love being outside and doing everything from running/walking/hiking to packing a picnic. Time well spent is time hanging out with my girlfriends.
I really do enjoy meeting new people so feel free to reach out to me. You can also connect with me on social media. I would be absolutely delighted and honored if you signed up for my emails. You can expect to receive about 2 per week.
